Thanks for checking on me, lol. I've been real busy this past week I was in North florida campaigining for the Obama campaign and it paid off, not only did he win, Florida was blue. When was the last time they were blue? LoL.Hope all is well with you.
Dang, last night I left you a really good, concise comment about your response to my poll, unfortunately my notebook started trippin and I guess it didnt compute...lets see if I remember...
SO you think Colored folks need a movement because injustice and inequity persist... That's interesting...What do you purpose we protest? What would be the theme and goal of such movement? Cause from my experience those forms of political activity primary serve the actors, having minimum effect on politicians decisions... Take the Jena 6 movement, as honorable as that march was what was the outcome? Follow-up? Accountability?... I resolve to positively effect the American institution of government so I am deeply passionate about political strategy. What I find is the majority of Colored folks (I like how that sounds) are ignorant of the legislative processes and do not know the most effective ways of acquiring the resources our politicans secure on our behalf. Not to sound like a Republican but 4real doe, how many more civil rights laws must the governmnet pass? Besides, law cant change an individuals prejudice or racism, all it can do is make those vices illegal if a crime is identified and proven... Our politicans main priorities are not civil rights, but civil planning and development ($$$- redistribution of taxes). There is sooooo much money that goes unclaimed by Colored folks, set aside specifically for us through affirmative action and minority enfranchisement initiatives...I feel Booker T. Washington when he said 'money, power, respect'-- create a franchise, become a shareholder, then you/we dont hafta begg for ish cause we shotcalling... I dunno. I ebb and flow when it comes to OUR collective struggle because its sooo complex and multi-dimensional, seems soo many of us retreat once we discover the challenging responsibility required for social progress... I aint madd at Crackers taking care of their own, cause if I had power I would look out for the pham first too... I dunno...Dubois had a legitimate claim as well--create a talented tenth who dedeicate their lives to progession on behalf of those who either cannot or choose not (Priest(ess)...Guess cuzin Snoop said it best "This type of ish happens all the time, you gotta get yourz but fool I gotta get minez!"
Oh and it aint the politicians who whooping Black folks behinds, we need to focus our voting powers on the judicairy (judges- city, county, state, federal--and erebody who role with them) and those many appointed leadership positions in all those agencies (local, county, state, federal). Thats what directly effects us moreso than Congress cause them the gatekeepers...
